Moonbreaker - Style Guide 2023
Here at Fluid, we’re eternally drawn to retro-aesthetic video games. When we first encountered Moonbreaker, a digital miniatures experience set in an expansive sci-fi universe, we were keen to bring its strong visual DNA and unique gameplay dynamics to life through our consumer products expertise. Our Licensing team reached out to game publishers Krafton with a vision to create a core style guide and artwork, ready to launch official Moonbreaker merch into reality.
What’s iconic about Moonbreaker is how it brings the classic tabletop format of turn-based strategy gameplay and customisable miniatures into the digital realm. We utilised this sense of groundbreaking ‘retro-future’ fun to drive the aesthetic of our style guide, which manifested in an awesome 80s throwback vibe with a modern digital finish. Our team built custom graphics, type and iconography with strong colour contrasts and flashes of neon lighting. We overlaid designs with the digital grain of an 80s computer screen while retaining a cool, contemporary vibrance.
