Riot Games brought the excitement early this January, dropping Welcome to Noxus: Act 1, the first of 2025’s new three part Season for League of Legends. The Masque of the Black Rose, a fresh thematic featuring Noxian skins, centres around a lavish masquerade ball hosted by the Black Rose, during which Noxus’ finest assassin, Katarina, dons a stunning mask to pass undercover in pursuit of the cunning and cruel Elise.

Riot approached Fluid to create an ultra-VIP influencer kit with a dual purpose; to build hype for the season launch, and form an elaborate, multi-part ARG. Sent to just 45 influencers worldwide, recipients were invited to the ultra-exclusive in-game event of the year: the Black Rose Masquerade Ball.

Each kit contained one of four stunning masks, all including an invitation (in the recipient’s native language), which revealed key intel to propel the game along. In a final twist to Riot’s elaborate ARG, one kit per region would contain a stunning replica of Katarina’s mask from the launch cinematic, alongside a clue teasing the season’s narrative beat: a small parchment featuring the sketched illustration of a mask.

Opulent and decadent, our kits are housed dramatic, theatrical self-rising wooden boxes - stained black, and adorned with creeping vines and topped with a signature Black Rose. Each kit opens to release the aroma of alluring rose perfume.

Within, a scattering of black petals sits on top of the kit’s stunning centrepiece; one of three individually designed, 3D printed and Vac-formed venetian half-masks, or, for one lucky recipient (per territory), Katarina’s full face mask, hand sculpted and crafted from fireglass with hand-distressing and internally flocked for an authentic finish. Each mask, fully wearable, was produced individually to exquisite effect by world-class prop makers. Sitting alongside, a wax sealed scroll (featuring the Black Rose insignia) opens to reveal individually addressed invitations to join Elise at the ball.
