
NACON Cthulhu
French games publisher and accessories powerhouse NACON revealed a host of games and hardware at their recent NACON Connect event. Fluid’s Brand team were proud creators of branding and key art for some of the team’s biggest upcoming titles - including Lovecraftian horror Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss.
Using client-supplied CG models, the Brand team set to work creating a striking central image to encompass the game’s eerie, menacing environment, conveying central messaging pillars of a futuristic world, themes of the occult and central character Noah’s quest.
The Cosmic Abyss oozes atmosphere, filled with psychological horror and the visceral fear found in the depths of a vast, hostile ocean, so we set to work creating a striking brand identity evoking the game’s core themes, showcasing character based gameplay set amidst the cyclopean depths of a hostile ocean.



Our key art is infused with threat, fear and a hint at the occult, with central character Noah Williams in terrifying danger. Our oppressive, darkly eerie colour palette infuses the creative with a sense of dread and threat. As the malevolent tentacles of an otherworldly monster of horrifying scale strangles a desperate Noah, his fear is tangible… the dark, cold scene is pierced by the deadly eyes of the creature, glowing to hint at its otherworldly nature.
Noah’s high tech suit conveys the game’s futuristic setting, and hints at his AI companion. The final creative is chillingly hostile; Noah’s situation is perilous, begging the question: how on earth can he survive?
